Brandon's going to Africa!!!
Dear friends and family,
I wanted to take a moment
and tell you about my desire and something I feel God has laid upon my heart
for me to take part in. Well, as many of
you know, last year I had the opportunity to go on a mission’s trip to Uganda,
Africa, and it was a great blessing to me and it is something I will never
forget! There I had the privilege to see
many souls come to Christ, and even got to lead my first person to Christ! The feeling you get from that is just
unexplainable, and its something anyone who goes will never regret. But as I was there with Rick Via Ministries,
we saw over 2,000 souls come to know Christ, in a Gospel-hungry nation, who are
just so receptive to hear the Gospel and we also treated many ailments in our daily
clinics. And once I got back into America,
I wanted to go right back to Uganda, because I just fell in love with the
people and just enjoyed working for God and it almost felt like my home was
there in Uganda!
And now, after many prayers and much talking to our local missionaries over in Uganda, I feel that God is calling me to spend some time over in Uganda, doing ministry there and continuing what we did last year! But this time I would love to do a sports ministry, going to the schools and surrounding villages and setting up either basketball or soccer and just playing with the kids and getting them involved, and building friendships so this way they are more receptive to the presentation of the Gospel. With this, we would be able to connect with the kids on a personal level and then when they see Christ in us, then they would be led to come to the saving knowledge of Him and even get to have some fun, too! While there, I will be working with the Nester’s for Uganda, our local missionaries, and both sports ministry and regular presentation of the Gospel, such as hut-to-hut, meeting people on the streets or setting up “Salvation stations”. But this time when I go over I will be going on my own, under the ministry of my home church, Rainbow Forest Baptist Church. As it says in Matthew 28:19 (which is also known as the Great Commission), “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and of the Holy Spirit.” I want to be obedient to God’s calling and go to serve in Uganda and I know that in order to do so, I’ll need to raise $3,200, and I do not have this kind of money. Therefore I am trusting God to help me provide the finances.
If you would like to contribute to this cause, you can make tax deductible donations to RFBC and mark the memo line ‘Brandon H. /Uganda’. But I know that with God, all things are possible, and prayer makes a HUGE difference in all of this. So as I conclude I want to thank each and every one of you for being a part of my life and I know with your help in this God will richly bless you all!
Sincerely,
Brandon Holdren
